Principal's Corner

Greetings Dragon Families,

As we embark on a new academic journey, I am delighted to extend a warm reception to each of you. I am Dr. Shanida Threatts, and it is both a privilege and a pleasure to serve as principal of Andersen Middle School. Whether you are returning or newly arrived, I am thrilled to have you as part of our close-knit, dynamic community.

At Andersen, we take great pride in supporting a unique and resilient community—our military-connected families. We deeply value the distinct experiences and strengths they bring, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every learner feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

This year, our aspirations are anchored in three foundational pillars: Scholastic Excellence through MTSS, Resilience and Well-Being, and Community and Collaboration. First, we are committed to Scholastic Excellence through MTSS by implementing a robust Multi-Tiered System of Supports to ensure that every student receives engaging, high-quality instruction tailored to their individual strengths and needs. Second, we are dedicated to Resilience and Well-Being, placing a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence and mental health to empower students to face challenges with confidence and compassion. Lastly, we aim to strengthen Community and Collaboration by deepening the essential partnerships we share with all stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where every voice is valued and respected.

We believe that strong partnerships with families are essential to student success. As a small school with a big heart, we value your involvement and collaboration. Together, we will build a year filled with meaningful learning, lasting relationships, and shared accomplishments.

Together, let us make this school year one of meaningful growth, enduring connections, and shared triumphs. Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s educational journey. We eagerly anticipate the remarkable accomplishments that await.
